Sweater Weather

Move over iced lattes; hello cappuccinos. Sweater weather is here! At least for one October day in Dallas. I had to take advantage of the great weather and don my favorite Express autumn wear: a shaker knit circle hem sweater and a cover-up

It was the perfect day to chat with a friend over coffee and toast at Davis Street Espresso. I felt so cozy in my sweater and cover-up, and I got a lot of compliments within minutes of arriving at the coffee shop!

I know these will be 2 staple pieces in my closet, especially because I love dark colors. The sweater came in pink, which I thought I might try, but... who can deny the black.

Paired with dark denim and black boots... and I'm ready for fall!

#ExpressLife

I'm currently mustering up the energy to work on a blog post about my trip to Taiwan. But first, I need to recollect myself, which means... lots of coffee! As soon as I landed, I visited one of my favorite coffee shops Local Press + Brew to get their coconut americano!

To be honest, I'm a very low energy person, and other people/the environment/even what I wear can give or take away my energy. That's why I chose to wear Express on this particular day - it gave me comfort and energy without sacrificing style (unlike my ugly t-shirt and sweatpants on the 12-hour plane ride back to the US).

These pieces from Express gave me confidence and energy to power through the day instead of giving in to jet lag! The v-neck swim cami was silky soft, and I finally found a bralette cute enough to peek through it! I sized up on the high waisted jeans to get a comfy, relaxed fit - perfect for sitting around coffee shops!

Thank you, Express, and I promise a Taiwan blog post will be coming very soon!

TUO Date Night

A couple of weeks ago, TUO offered to take Brian and me out on a date! They're a new date night service that takes care of all the planning and payments ahead of time for you, so you can just relax and enjoy your date! We had the following options:

  • Active Package – for the health and fitness enthusiasts
  • Casual Package – for anyone game for a diverse combination of activities
  • Romantic Package – for those seeking a classic night out in an intimate setting

We opted for the Romantic Package - and TUO took care of the rest! On the night of our date, they sent a driver to pick us up, and we were whisked away to... we didn't know where to just yet! The whole night was a wonderful surprise.

Our driver was super friendly and made great conversation with us. Before we knew it, he had us at our first stop: Joyce & Gigi's. We could not have been happier! We had been here once for Valentine's Day, and we had been wanting to come back again!

If you've never been to Joyce & Gigi's, I highly recommend it. It's a mother & daughter run restaurant with South American cuisine. Very intimate and great food!

We had an amazing meal, and they even sneakily asked Brian what our song was so they knew to play Frank Ocean - Thinking About You right as they served us strawberry & rhubarb sangria at the end of the meal! It was superrrr romantic!

After dinner, our driver picked us up right on time, and we headed to our next spot: Chocolate Secrets. The TUO crew had set up a table for us complete with chocolate and a bottle of wine to go along with some live jazz!

Thanks so much for a romantic and fun date night! TUO was also nice enough to create a discount code for my audience, so if you'd like to try out this date night service, use the code "KLAO25" for $25 off!
